Dance/film: Lobke Sprenkeling Music improvisation: Fernando Montes de Oca (viola) & Lobke Sprenkeling (recorder) When we were travelling through Death Valley National Park, I reserved an afternoon for dancing in the desert under the relentless sun. It is the result of an exploration of the relationship between the body and the forms of the landscape. In Mazatlán, Mexico, my friend Fernando Montes de Oca and I made several musical improvisations, playing around with parameters such as tempo, timbre, and pitch, and this piece is one of the results!
