JoLo World Vlog week 23: Cuba (Havana, Trinidad, Cienfuegos, countryside)

Havana  •

Ten days of Cuba opened up our eyes! This is probably the most controversial country we have been to. On the one hand there is free education for everyone, and free health care, there is housing for everyone too. There is no speculation with terrains. People are really friendly and it's safe on the streets. On the other hand poverty is all over. Many items including many types of fruit, vegetables and other food items are scarce. Gas is scarce, as anything that's an import product. Internet, too. La Habana is amazing, and once you get out of the touristic zone, you really walk in normal Cuban life. We drove through the countryside, in a car with driver, organised talking in person to several people. Once in Cuba, you can't book anything online anymore. We wanted to go to Varadero but once there we didn't find it too authentic. So we drove on and slept in Santa Clara. Next day we drove to beautiful Trinidad. This is a touristic place as well but it's just so beautiful! Then we drove to Cienfuegos, a town we liked very much for its own particular character. We would definitely want to come back to Cuba again! Did you like it?
